ARABS WHO SUPPORT ISRAEL

HERE IS ANOTHER MUCH longed for website that purports to support Israel, the United States, peace, and harmony. And the Palestinians. It purports to be non-confrontational. It seems to be a legitimate response to the radicalized Islam now challenging the West with violence and sedition.

Let us celebrate such a group of Arabs with an poignant excerpt from an essay found on the site that echoes some of the same realizations that other websites such as Jihad Watch have tried to suggest to the misinformed who apologize for the ruthless behavior of the so-called jihadists of Al Qaeda, Hams, Hezbollah, CAIR, and other unrepentant, aggressive groups. Let's hope that other Muslim groups will take notice, and come to the same conclusions as Mr. Tashbih Sayyed, author of this essay has done:

Christian Europe was fortunate to have lived through the throes of reformation, counter-reformation, movements that brought in enlightenment and cause the French revolution. This experience allowed them to see the benefits of democracy, pluralism and tolerance. Muslims on the other hand, since they had never experienced a political, cultural or military setback, up until Napoleon invaded and conquered Egypt in 1798, never felt a need for self-evaluation and self critique. The very fact that they remained in control of much of the world as rulers gave them a sense of superiority and deprived them of an ability to learn from others. The long Muslim political supremacy contributed in the creation of a false sense that their faith represents the absolute truth and all other faiths are inferior.

In the aftermath of Ottoman Empire’s demise, radical Islam built its campaign of terror on this premise of Islamism being the absolute truth. The whole concept of the world being divided in two house; dar ul Islam (House of peace) and Dar ul Harb (House of war), is based on this ideology.

In order to ensure that radical Islam remains in control of the Muslim heart and mind, Islamist state joined hands with the dogmatic mosque that preached the most rigid and the most exclusivist interpretations of Islam—Deobandi, Salafis and Wahhabis. Saudi Petro-Dollars helped this un-holy alliance gain legitimacy and hijack the mainstream Islam. This radical ideology is possessed by a destructive passion—it wants to control the world by overwhelming all open societies.

Radical Islamists are aware that they can control the hearts and minds of Muslim street only so long as they somehow suppress the desire among Muslims to seek modern education. They know that the United States of America and the state of Israel – being open, pluralistic and democratic—are the only two entities in the world that can thwart their Fascist designs. That’s why they want to destroy them. As a first step in this direction, they have launched a smear campaign against Judeo-Christian civilization.

Radical Islam’s job has been made easy by a long Muslim tradition of misinterpreting the Holy Scriptures as condemning Jews. The custom of accepting fabricated fables demonizing Jews and Christians as Prophets Traditions has also empowered the fundamentalists. Using these manipulated Holy Scriptures and fabricated traditions, radical Islamists projected Judeo-Christian powers as responsible for Muslim defeats, setbacks and downfall.

By spinning the history, Islamists have labeled all the traits of freedom and openness as a Zionist conspiracy to undermine the Islamic values and culture. The concept of nation-states is condemned as a conspiracy to divide the Muslim Ummah (faith based Muslim nationhood). Radical Islamists realize that their spin and mesmerism will only work so long as the Muslim street is not exposed to the truth—as contained in modern and scientific knowledge and the principles determining the directions of open societies.

To prevent the Muslim masses from gaining insight, they have made certain that modern education does not reach the grass roots level. And they have succeeded in achieving this goal by labeling all modern education as un-Islamic. As a result, the Muslim world is plunged into an abyss of darkness, anti-modernity, anti-Americanism and anti-Semitism.

I am convinced that the only way to save the Muslims from being permanently consigned to the dustbin of history is to destroy the basis of anti-Semitism from the Muslim traditions and liturgy. And this can be done only by exposing the Islamist.

In my view, to expose radical Islam, Muslims have to be introduced to the real reasons of anti-Semitism. This can only be done by creating an alternative source of information and education from within the Muslim community. Only a Muslim challenge to the dark ideology of Islamism can undo the damage done to the Muslim mind.

Since only Jews represent over five thousand years of human pursuit of knowledge, struggle to prevail over bigotry and absolutism and persevere against a perpetual desire on the part of evil forces to destroy them, their history if presented in an honest fashion to the Muslims can go a long way destroying anti-Semitism.

I consider the creation of the Jewish state as a blessing for the Muslims. Israel has provided us an opportunity to show to the world the Jewish state of mind in action; a mind that yearns to be free; a mind that longs to see the humanity enjoy life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. If the American civic faith has given the world a hope to be able to live with dignity, self respect and honor in peace, the Jewish traditions and culture of pluralism, debate, acceptance of dissension and difference of opinion have manifested themselves in the shape of the state of Israel to present the oppressed Muslim world with a paradigm to emulate. And if we want this world to be free of any kind of terror, we will have to defend this state of mind, whether it is seen in the shape of Israel or in the form of the United States of America.

One of the defining principles of Hamas and the Islamic Brotherhood is their insistence that the only truth is Islam and that the world is destined to be enlightened only when ruled by Islam. A similar Islamic supremacist ideology was expressed recently in an article by a Palestinian Authority religious leader who was appointed last year by Mahmoud Abbas as member of the Supreme Fatwa Council: "Muslims are masters of the world, its leaders and teachers, even if the West rejects this."

"The Muslims and their societies are more advanced and more sublime than the West and its societies… are more perfect in value system and humanity. The fact that there are those who believe that these are Western values—it is a delusion and false, since the Muslims are masters of the world, its leaders and teachers, even if the West rejects this."

This continues the ongoing social-religious evolution that PMW has been reporting for some time, in which the radical Islamic ideology of Hamas is being adopted by the Fatah of Mahmoud Abbas. The following was written by Dr. Hamza Dhib Mustafa, member of the Supreme Fatwa Council, appointed by Abbas in August 2006:

They do not go beyond the punishment defined by Islamic law with all that pertains to human rights, regardless of their religion, race, color and their countries [of origin], since human beings are equal from the point of view of Islam… Everyone is equal under the law in terms of their rights and obligations…

"It says in the Quran… in the words [of Allah], praise him: “O mankind! We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that ye may know each other (not that ye may despise each other). Verily the most honored of you in the sight of Allah is (he who is) the most righteous of you.” [Quran, 49,13]

"This and more, Islam promises various rights to the human. It promises him freedom of religion and citizenship, freedom of thought, the right to property, political freedom and his right to employment. The thing that has no doubt… is that Islam preceded Europe and the West, in general, with all that pertains to matters of human rights by no less than 13 centuries …

SAVE ETHIOPIA FROM THE WOLVES

Posted on Jihad Watch by Hugh Fitzgerald, the following article makes clear YET AGAIN the ridiculous posture American and other Western politicians have taken toward Muslim aggressors anywhere they find them across the global with one notable exception—Afghanistan—and that was only a quarter measure of the necessary response because these same leaders were too busy planning an attack on Iraq instead of focussing on a clean victory in Taliban territories. But I digress:

Talk to Ethiopian Christians in the West. Ask them about their fears. Not fears or memories of this or that regime, of Mengistu and the DERG, or complaints about Zenawi, but fears about Islam. Many may be hesitant at first, thinking perhaps you might be a Muslim or a supporter of Muslims, but if you forthrightly declare your own views, see what you are told in return, what a torrent may follow.

The demographic conquest of the last redoubt of Christianity, the famous Christian Kingdom of Ethiopia, so famous that when the inhabitants of Western Christendom, under constant Muslim attack, with raids up and down the coasts of Europe as far as Ireland and on one occasion, even as far as Iceland, sought and found a comforting myth of the powerful Christian king, beyond the lands of Islam, who would help the Christians of Europe fight the menace of Islam. At first this mythical kingdom of Prester John was located in Asia, in distant India, but later became identified in the minds of many in Europe with Ethiopia as the new Kingdom of Prester John.

Here is how one blogger at an Addis Ababa site expresses his fears:

"Ethiopia is at a crossroads. In fact it was headed for this crossroad no matter who was prime minister. It is a lion cub being hunted by the sabre of Islam. Islam is at odds with democracy, freedom and human liberty. It will ultimately oppose Ethiopia, even in violation of its own Koran.

I have been traveling & working in Ethiopia for several years now. There have been many changes. While the politics of Meles may be brought into question. Any situation beats the DERG and I would say the current status, though far from perfect beats an Islamic state any day. Ethiopia faces the loss of a developing democracy to the enemies of freedom and liberty.

Where Isalm is the minority they are as lambs, where they are equal in power they are like a fox, when Islam is the majority they are as wolves.

What's going on is not merely political or philosophical, it is a war of ideology. The sovereignty of Ethiopia is at stake. Shore up her borders and then tackle the internal issues, as a parlimentary democracy—there is less freedom in an Islamic-fascist state. Just visit Somalia or Eritrea."

One might also note the views of Muslim apologists who do not want the Americans helping Ethiopia precisely because it is seen as a "Christian" state, and this would offend Muslims, who apparently are free to wage Jihad, but we who are not Muslims must not extend aid to fellow non-Muslims lest this put a "religious" cast on what, of course, is already a religiously-prompted war.

This absurd argument can be found in a piece that appeared in a Houston paper, of which an excerpt is given below:

There are several reasons why aligning with Ethiopia on Somalia would be a bad idea that might even jeopardize the current coalition and undermine the long-term objectives of the war against global terrorism.

First, such partnership with a nation that portrays itself as "a Christian" nation against a Muslim neighbor, which is a member of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) and the Arab League, and based on little and tainted information, would give the war a religious color, thereby undermining President Bush's core message right from the start: that the war is against terrorism, not against Islam.

Historically, Ethiopia viewed itself as a "Christian island surrounded by a Muslim sea." As a result, Islam has historically been perceived as a major threat to this country, and Ethiopian Muslims, though they constitute at least half of the population, have had an invisible presence in the country. A former U.S. ambassador to Ethiopia wrote: 'Islam in Ethiopia has confined itself entirely to the spiritual realm. It has shown no interest in politics, though it is keenly aware that it comprises at least half the population and probably more.'

Furthermore, Ethiopia's unshakable image in the eyes of the world is that of a Christian nation. The recent U.S. Department of State classification of all the main Horn of Africa nations in the region, except Ethiopia, as either predominantly Arab or Muslim, also reinforces that image. Apparently, this has nothing to do with being "predominantly Arab or Muslim."

The transparent argument here is that Christians are not allowed to help fellow Christians lest the war be perceived, as it is declared to be by the Muslims in Somalia and by all the non-Somali Muslims who will help them, as a war between Muslims and Chrsitians.

About one thing the writer is correct: there are many Muslims in Ethiopia, and its Christian character is threatened by the missionary efforts, and the usual overbreeding by Muslims. That is another problem, and it is a problem that needs to be recognized and not ignored but dealt with, because it is in the interests of the entire non-Muslim world that Ethiopia remain a Christian country and not succumb to Islam. And whatever that takes—:including the transfer of some Muslims into Somalia—should be considered.

IRAN HANGS ARAB SEPARATISTS

Today we learn that Iran has hanged three Arabs for carrying out bombings in the oil rich Khuzestan province. The Tehran Emrooz daily newspaper said the men were hanged on Tuesday in the provincial capital Ahvaz, where in January 2006 they bombed a private bank and the office of the governor.

"They were convicted for acting against national security," the newspaper said.

In November, Iranian media said that a total of 10 men had been convicted of carrying out last year's spate of bombings in Ahvaz and that they would be executed soon. Ahvaz, the capital of the western Khuzestan province and home to a large community of ethnic minority Arabs, has witnessed a wave of unrest over the past year.

Two Arab separatists have already been hanged over attacks in October 2005, which killed six and injured close to 100. Another double bombing killed eight and injured 46 in January.

But here's the caveat. Government officials blamed the Khuzestan unrest on Britain with its troops based just across the border in southern Iraq. Damn. The power of the West is just amazing, isn't it? The hangings brings to at least 147 the number of people executed in Iran this year.

Amnesty International says there were 94 executions in Iran in 2005. Capital offences in the Islamic republic include murder, rape, armed robbery, apostasy, blasphemy, serious drug trafficking, repeated sodomy, adultery or prostitution, treason and espionage.
